A POEM: SAYING GOODBYE TO MY CDS GROUP

There were days we talked about it
For one year, we saw it and we had it
When I look back
All I see is love and warmth we never lacked

Though this end days feel like ice
And I am afraid we have to take the slice
I have to tell you that missing you all hurts,
I will truly miss
Ukeme, our alluring rapporteur,
Sunday, our CDS pilot,
Faith, with her calm nature,
Jacinta, always curious yet so mature,
Tracy who could be so unfrazzled,
Queen who would rather be unperturbed,
Jennifer whom I would never want to diss,
Glory and Uduak, our lovely Mrs,
And  Sarah’s smile which could make one go an extra mile.
And not forgetting our reservoir of lectures, Etop,
With you leaving I hope they can cope.
To every other person unmentioned,
I want to say you all touched my life in a way I can’t leave shunned.

I can’t forget the days of those parades,
Now when we are to be disparaged,
Disbanded and encouraged to go forth and manage,
A world different from our own,
A house different from our home,
A place not too comfortable to roam,
In a country that gave us a throne

Permit me to borrow a thought,
I hope as we go away from this hub,
We’ll be able to use what we have been taught here as a positive force.

I’m happy none was cut in their prime,
And we never committed any crime,
Our lives, the young people can now mime
And maybe pay us a dime.

I am glad we served this country together
I know this country will get better,
And we can always deliver
Our youths from whatever

I hope as we leave we won’t forget
how we survived the hornet
We all blew our trumpets
And looking back now, I personally have no regrets

I won’t see many of you in years,
And this is my worst fear
I wish I could hug you like a bear
I may need a hankie I think I am gonna shed a tear

To the world around us,
It’s promises did not elude us,
Who was our judge?
I guess we are good to go without a grudge.

I will truly miss you all.

I can't say I did it all alone, I have so much love for this great poet, Pharm Odudu Thunderbolt for his contribution to this.
