FLASH LIGHT INSPIRATION

I always wanted to watch Pitch Perfect, then I never did.
I saw the ads for Pitch Perfect 2, I said I was going to watch in the cinema, I never did.

Lately, so much has been going on that has made me appreciate life more, tell my friends how much I love them, hold my family and loved ones tight, give the love I have...hug as much as I want to.
I wake up at midnight to be thankful for the beautiful life I have, for the awesomeness of God I see and even for the love I get always.

Someone whose work I love, but never met in person just passed on in a painful way, I was on the tribute page but too broken to post a tribute. A beautiful soul severed by the sharp knife of a short life.

Why am I going all around with the disjointed story?

MY BIRTHDAY STORY

No need for an epistle, God has been faithful.
From 12.00am, the day was mine to own :D
Gifts began to roll in by midnight…
Dad’s voicemail singing “happy birthday” and Mum’s prayer filled text message came in.
Lots of audio messages, calls, display pictures of me on BBM, tagged pictures of me on facebook and Instagram.
I thought I could hide but I have amazing friends...

Sandii went to decorate me on Instagram, girl can make happy tears fall all around.

Storma wrote me a very lovely poem on Facebook.

EXCUSES AND ALL!

Work! School! Photography! Family! Church!
I am not here to make excuses I will let that pass.

My friend asked why I wasn't writing anymore, so I typed out a long epistle explaining why I wasn't writing anymore...erased it, typed a few words and sent it, I don't want to make any excuses.
I will keep up this time.
I am sorry I have been away for too long.

SPECIALly Inspired!

It’s been a long while around here…I hope I can make a great come back, I have so much to share.
Today I will be about “inspiration”. I just watched this video that made me cry a lot, yeah! I am quite emotional. It is about a blessed child, who came into this world to pay for his mother’s mistake. Oh! That’s the annoyed me talking…let’s just say God wanted that to happen so it could inspire a lot of us.
Most times, we feel like we have the biggest problems in the world….this makes us stay complaining instead of being thankful.

I want to use this opportunity to thank all Parents, especially those of children with special needs who have not given up on their children. Indeed it breaks my heart when I see children born to suffer and battle with deformities, infirmities and diseases.

I once worked in a Paediatric ward…each time I stepped in there, I just had to pull myself together so I would not cry…infact I never stepped into the section of the Paediatric ward that housed children with special needs because I would break down, but I used to peep from afar and see the coloured words, painted objects and inspirational messages on their walls.

I have been around a child with special need. Unfortunately in this part of the world, if a child starts to behave in an unusual way, we tag it to “witches and spiritual stuff” before even seeking medical advice. These things happen atimes, but thank God for medical sciences. I have watched him being treated badly infront of and by his teachers, school mates and even some friends. I have had my heart broken over and over that the world (except a few people) won't take the time to see the beautiful heart he has, and just keep judging him. I just feel this sense of peace every time he does something unique that inspires me. I always force myself to believe he is fine, I thank God for friends and family who convince me that he is fine…the best part? He has God, knows Him, believes in Him…he has the inner strength, perseverance and courage I don't have and that just makes me feel so happy.

There is a poem I like so much because it gives me an understanding that every situation is God's making and it's for a reason. The poem was written by my favourite author Erma Bombeck for special mothers, you can read it HERE.
For those of us, who have never really understood the pains, tears, joys and struggles of Parents of Children with special needs, you can always reach out to them, encourage them and pray for them, it is not an easy road to tread.

I recommend two movies (true life stories) that will inspire you…Like Stars on Earth and Letters to God. These two movies have changed my life.
Before I forget what made me write this, here is the video that made me cry today, you might want to watch.
Do have a blessed weekend.

IF MOM SAYS...IF MOM ASKS....

I have grown up to realise certain things about my mom, whenever she makes a statement, I don't just agree or respond, I have to think deeply, sometimes she would say something and mean the other, especially to me. Here is what I am talking about;

If mom says, 'The dress is okay but I wouldn't wear it if I were u'
It means 'go and pull it, gurl'.
If mom says, 'Try and see if u can sweep this kitchen'
I don't need to try, I just get a broom.
When mom says, 'Does the post office open on mondays?'
It means 'Girl, u gotta post a letter for me'

If mom says, 'Should we have breakfast this morning?'
That ain't no question, I just start cooking immediately.
If mom says, 'Do u need my advice?'
Yes or no. I am still gonna get it, anyway.
If mom asks, 'where are you?'
You have either stayed out too late or are about to run errand for her.
If mom asks, 'can you run an errand for me?'
Yes or no, you are definitely gonna run that errand.
If mom says, 'oh, the kitchen looks dirty, I will clean it up when I am back'.
You better get to work and clean it up because you may not like what she will do when she gets back.
If mom says, 'the sand from your car can build a skyscraper'.
Though it is an exaggeration, babe, it is time to clean your car interior.
If mom says, 'that plate of food should have been for a whole nation'.
It means, I have eaten more than I am supposed to.
If she comes home to see dirty dishes, she will say, 'looks like you hosted a Country here'.
Don't let her tell you to get work, before you do.
If mom says, 'take two steps to my friend's house, I need you to get something for me'
Grab the car keys, we could be talking about miles here.
If mom says.....
