SPECIALly Inspired!

It’s been a long while around here…I hope I can make a great come back, I have so much to share.
Today I will be about “inspiration”. I just watched this video that made me cry a lot, yeah! I am quite emotional. It is about a blessed child, who came into this world to pay for his mother’s mistake. Oh! That’s the annoyed me talking…let’s just say God wanted that to happen so it could inspire a lot of us.
Most times, we feel like we have the biggest problems in the world….this makes us stay complaining instead of being thankful.

I want to use this opportunity to thank all Parents, especially those of children with special needs who have not given up on their children. Indeed it breaks my heart when I see children born to suffer and battle with deformities, infirmities and diseases.

I once worked in a Paediatric ward…each time I stepped in there, I just had to pull myself together so I would not cry…infact I never stepped into the section of the Paediatric ward that housed children with special needs because I would break down, but I used to peep from afar and see the coloured words, painted objects and inspirational messages on their walls.

I have been around a child with special need. Unfortunately in this part of the world, if a child starts to behave in an unusual way, we tag it to “witches and spiritual stuff” before even seeking medical advice. These things happen atimes, but thank God for medical sciences. I have watched him being treated badly infront of and by his teachers, school mates and even some friends. I have had my heart broken over and over that the world (except a few people) won't take the time to see the beautiful heart he has, and just keep judging him. I just feel this sense of peace every time he does something unique that inspires me. I always force myself to believe he is fine, I thank God for friends and family who convince me that he is fine…the best part? He has God, knows Him, believes in Him…he has the inner strength, perseverance and courage I don't have and that just makes me feel so happy.

There is a poem I like so much because it gives me an understanding that every situation is God's making and it's for a reason. The poem was written by my favourite author Erma Bombeck for special mothers, you can read it HERE.
For those of us, who have never really understood the pains, tears, joys and struggles of Parents of Children with special needs, you can always reach out to them, encourage them and pray for them, it is not an easy road to tread.

I recommend two movies (true life stories) that will inspire you…Like Stars on Earth and Letters to God. These two movies have changed my life.
Before I forget what made me write this, here is the video that made me cry today, you might want to watch.
Do have a blessed weekend.

The Day when im born or why we no suppose celebrate am, how e take bother you? The important thing no be to remember and appreciate how im take die come save you? And to remember how im die, you gats remember why im take born....na why Christmas come dey.

Yes, na that day them been dey celebrate sun god. If you born come hear say na the day wey you born them been born one kind masquerade join, you go change birthday abi? Or you go just talk, "anh! wetin concern me? I dey celebrate my own birthday".
Even though some people don de over-rate this Christmas, dey concentrate on how to chop chicken, wear cloth, forget the main essence of Christmas....you wey remember, no be say you no fit celebrate Jesus everyday of your life oh, which na the gong gong thing, but you no see say e  follow good for all CHRISTIANS in unity to choose one day to celebrate and thank Baba God? As for the argue argue people, House of Assembly, House of Reps, dey find people to bring ideas, to argue make our country better….no come facebook to show your 'debater' skills...even when you know say you no suppose argue.

Finally, if you wan celebrate Jesus’ Birth personally, do am….if you wan celebrate am with everybody, you dey free…if you no wan celebrate at all, you kukuma dey free. We no dey quarrel. Na so one guy talk say "Whether or not you celebrate Christmas, it isn't a guarantee to enter Heaven's gate, so why bother?"

OUR E-FRIENDSHIP (3)

I tried calling the number it was off. I tried searching for him on Facebook, it’s like he blocked me. I just accepted my fate, maybe he was not the one for me.

I showed Dara the text, before I could say Jack Robinson, Dara said, “Oh goodness! I am trying so hard not to say, I told you so” and burst out into laughter.

I just asked, “Dara, why don’t you just wish me well?”.

She came to where I sat in the room and hugged me and said, “Oh no, Sis! I love you and I wish you well. Don’t worry a better guy will come along, trust me”.

I just pretended to smile and hugged her back.

Smith never called or contacted me. It took me 2 months to forget about Smith.

4 months after the-Smith-incident, by then I assumed he had gone to Germany, I had a 7a.m. lecture. While waiting for the lecturer, I quickly got on Facebook, I saw a notification, from my school's Discussion

OUR E-FRIENDSHIP (2)

I began to plead, I told him I was really sorry, and that I did trust him but I just felt that seeing him with other people around at that time wouldn’t just feel right. After about a minute of silence, he said, “baby I forgive you, I have taken back everything I said to hurt you, but please don’t do that again”.

I breathed a sigh of relief, he added me again on Facebook and we had chatted for 3 hours, before I finally slept off feeling like a burden had just been lifted from my chest. The next day, I called him as early as 8am and asked if we could meet, he said he had a lot of his family and friends to see. That we could meet by 4pm. I went to school that day, so excited. When I told Dara, I was going to meet Smith that evening, she just said, “Whatever!”. Next thing I heard was that we had a fixed class from 4pm to 6pm. What??? I thought to myself, “Dara is the class representative, I bet she will help me on that”. When I approached her, she said, “Hehe! That lecturer may give test oh, you better attend”.

“But I have a date with Smith”, I replied.

“Has he set a venue for the date?”

“No. But he is going to”

Dara retorted, “Okay, if he loves you like that, tell him to come here to school and wait for you and pick you up after the lecture”.

I didn’t feel that was right, but

OUR E-FRIENDSHIP

I logged into my Facebook account and saw “one new friend request”. I checked up the guy’s profile, his name was Smith George and from the profile I realized he was doing his BSc in London and his family was based in Germany, bla bla bla.
Well, I accepted ;-) The guy was very cute from his albums.
We began to chat, our e-friendship grew by the day. It was from there I got to know he was born in Germany, raised in Nigeria and went back to Germany when he was 10years old. He told me about his family, that his father worked in Nigeria and that he retired before leaving for Germany, his mum owned a clothing line called Farshun in Germany, he was the last born in the family of five, the third boy and from all he said, they were well-to do. I told him about myself too….but since we never met, I was careful not to let out too much information. I never asked him for his cell number but he got mine. He used a Blackberry and said I could text him anytime of the day and he would receive it.
Two months after, he told me he had just finished his BSc in Imperial College, London and was coming to spend 6 months in Nigeria before going back to Germany. I was super excited. He finally got to Nigeria
